Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Onyx Butterfly Music Studio. By enrolling in lessons or using our website onyxbutterflystudios.com, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully, as they outline your rights and responsibilities as a student or parent/guardian.
1. General Information
Onyx Butterfly Music Studio is Oklahoma City’s premiere music school, providing lessons in music, art, acting, and dance for students ages 5 through adult. By registering, you agree to abide by all policies and procedures stated herein.
2. Tuition & Fees
Private Music Lessons: $165/month for weekly 30-minute sessions; $320/month for weekly 60-minute sessions.
Private Dance Lessons: $110/month for weekly 30-minute sessions.
Acting & Dance Classes: $60/month for weekly 1-hour group classes.
Registration Fee: $25 (one-time, due at registration).
Tuition is not prorated for missed lessons.
Tuition does not include required books, instruments, or other retail teaching materials.
3. Cancellations & Makeups
Lessons canceled 24+ hours in advance (by phone, email, or in person) will be credited as a makeup.
Lessons missed due to a teacher’s absence will always be credited or rescheduled.
No makeup credit is given for student tardiness.
Classes canceled by a teacher may be rescheduled or taught by a substitute instructor.
4. Discontinuing Lessons
Enrollment is month-to-month.
To discontinue lessons, you must submit a withdrawal form by the 15th of your final month.
Tuition is not prorated; the final month’s tuition is due in full, whether or not lessons are attended.
5. Lesson Calendar
Tuition is based on a 48-week year (with 4 holiday weeks).
Long months may include 5 lessons; shorter months (e.g. November, December) may include 3.
Tuition remains the same each month for consistent accounting.
6. Summer Vacation
The studio operates year-round and does not close for summer.
Unlimited makeups are available for students who miss lessons due to vacation.
Tuition must still be paid in full to hold a lesson spot during vacation months.
7. Care of Students
The studio does not provide before or after care.
Parents of children under age 5 must remain in the lobby during lessons/classes.
Students should not be left unattended before or after lessons.
8. Open Door Policy
Parents are always welcome to observe lessons. We encourage quiet observation if the student is comfortable.
9. Injuries & Liability
By enrolling, parents, guardians, and students waive the right to legal action for injuries sustained on studio property during normal activities. This includes but is not limited to hearing damage, physical injury, or loss of property. Onyx Butterfly LLC is not responsible for damage to vehicles or stolen items.
10. Student Pickup
Children must remain inside the studio until picked up.
Students may not meet parents outside or be dropped off at the curb.
Onyx Butterfly LLC assumes no responsibility for children who leave the premises unaccompanied.
11. Virtual Lessons
Virtual lessons are available by request.
Students remain responsible for their scheduled time.
The studio is not responsible for internet or device connection issues.
Please allow up to 10 minutes for virtual links to be sent.
12. Media & Recording Waiver
We regularly photograph, video, and record students during lessons, recitals, and events for social media, newsletters, and promotions.
Students/parents may opt in or out on the Image & Audio/Video Recording Waiver at registration.
By opting in, you grant permission for Onyx Butterfly LLC to use these images and recordings.
13. Communication
Parents/guardians must provide a primary phone number for studio-wide announcements and reminders.
By enrolling, you agree to receive text messages, emails, and calls regarding lessons, billing, and studio updates.
You may opt in to our email newsletter for promotions and important announcements.
14. Conduct
Respectful behavior is expected from students and families at all times.
The studio reserves the right to dismiss any student for disruptive behavior, failure to comply with policies, or nonpayment of tuition.
15. Limitation of Liability
Onyx Butterfly Music Studio shall not be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in lessons, classes, or activities.
16. Amendments
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on our website and become effective immediately upon posting.
